I am a web designer & developer. Please take a look at some of the work I’ve done.
This is the company website that I built and maintain.
Using the ExpressionEngine CMS I was able to quickly and easily get this site launched as well as implement some advanced features. I used the categories feature of Solspace User combined with Super Search to create a files dashboard for our partners.
My development process utilizes a master config file that allows me to easily develop in a local Git repository and then push updates to the live site with minimal effort.
Other notable technologies used were jQuery, Foundation (v2) from Zurb, elements of Twitter Bootstrap, and some customized ExpressionEngine plugins.
A small microsite for a flagship product.
I first cut my teeth on Foundation with this project. This was also my first fully responsive site. I wouldn’t call it optimized for mobile, but the content does serialize so no horizontal scrolling is required when viewed on a smart phone.
Another website I designed and built for a sister company.
Though smaller in scope and offering less content than daptech.com (see above), this site was a great example of what can be achieved when utilizing a solid CMS (ExpressionEngine) and flexible front-end frameworks (Foundation and Bootstrap). This time I used Zoo Visitor combined with Super Seach to create a login-restricted file download dashboard with flexible permission sets.
I really honed my ExpressionEngine workflow with this project, and found using Git and an ExpressionEngine master config file was a very efficient way to develop, even with multiple environments.
A responsive HTML template for new product launch
This responsive (but still table-based) template has one breakpoint at 480px and reads nicely on desktops as well as mobile devices that support media queries.
Spec sheets, banner graphics, and more.
I am responsible for all things print (as well as web) at my current company. I’ve done specification sheets, brochures, product postcards, booth graphics, large-format banners, and whatever else we needed.
As for the spec sheets, I use Indesign to manage the 70+ versions and keep the styling consistent. I also wrote a script that automates the PDF output when changes are made.
A customer support site from scratch.
This was the first iteration of a company website (before I discovered ExpressionEngine). I developed it with pure PHP/MySQL (no frameworks). It features secure user-authentication, searchable content, and admin-users could upload and edit files and metadata. The design is rather spartan but the code is elegant!
